I hope all is well and you are enjoying the beginning of Spring. I know I said I would blog more but life has been busy and I’m learning how to balance everything. I have been reading a lot of self-management books and one of the things that has been a main focus for me is managing friends and my circle of friends. I like to call it Sista Circle.
I love love love my Sista circle. It has not changed much over time but it has expanded throughout my travels and living in multiple states. I always have this feeling to be mindful of people because their intention for you is very different for the intentions you have for yourself.
Everyone you meet is not intended to be in your immediate circle. We know the old saying people come into your life for a reason and a season. But what if we are taking this term literally and pushing people out who are intended for longer than a season.
In this journey called life one of the things I had to learn is how to be friend and what my role is in my Sista circle. Yup, I said it. Have you ever thought about who you are and your role in the Sista circle? It’s a tough question to ask yourself and analyze who you are in the circle and how do you contribute to the circle.
At 36, I have done a lot of self-identity work to trying to figure out who I am as a person and am I living into the person I dream to be. At this moment no, but I am doing the work to make sure that put the necessary values and actions in place so that I can move into the person I love and want to be. More importantly making sure I am living into the person that I want to be in my Sista circle.
I don’t have the answers of how to evaluate how and who you are in your Sista circle that takes independent work. But I hope you start to do the work to find out who you want to be and put the necessary actions in place to be that person.
