I know I know it’s been a while since I have posted. This month has been above amazing for me and I am just getting the opportunity to come up for air. As you know it has been a weird transition for me to Jacksonville but in the last month everything is coming together. I think what helped me the most is sticking to one of my new year’s resolution to try everything and be open.
When I first moved overseas I took a page from Shonda Rhimes book Year of Yes and said yes to everything. Literally I never said no to anything which a few times I was stuck looking crazy abandoned in strange areas of China like what were you thinking. But as always it lead to an amazing story over happy hours.
So here is how just say yes has been an amazing transformation for me over the last three months. Last Christmas my friend Tracy kept nagging me to start taking pictures of how to style my earrings. I’m not really that great at styling anything other than my little blonde pixie cut but since I need to get out of my comfort zone and try to be more confident I said YES.
But I knew I had to revamp my business in the process to reflect the new look and also be comfortable with being in front of the camera. I ended up finding a great local photographer that has been amazing. This experience of saying yes has also opened doors to a whole community in Jacksonville I never knew existed.
I have even started taking advantage of opportunities at work that I would have never said yes to and it has allowed me to not only find my place a work, but I feel my ideas and perspective are more welcomed.
Sometimes yes can lead you down a path you never knew existed and also open up things about yourself that you didn’t know existed.
So if you have the opportunity to say YES just say YES. It doesn’t always has to be to the dress 🙂
Until next time divas!!!
